Brown up by 9 in new poll – Contraception flap continues – JK3 makes it official – ListMasster survives trivia night

EXCEPTIONAL: Is this the first real dust-up of the senate campaign so far? It’s extreme – no, it’s not – it’s in the Blunt language – no, it’s not, you’re doin’ it wrong. Is the whole race going to be like this? And hey now look at this, a new poll has Scott Brown up by nine points over Elizabeth Warren. (Greater Boston, Braude, WHDH, Globe)

TRIVIAL PURSUIT: Well, I’m still alive. Though the angry hordes of trivia-goers were at times less than satisfied but the questions, pace and duration of the MassterList Trivia Challenge, in the end most had a good time. We’ll do it again sometime soon and it’ll be at least marginally smoother. A hearty combination thank you/congratulations goes out to the Liberty Square Group who not only sponsored the event but also took home the grand prize of the entire Bill Weld fiction trilogy. What a wonderfully post-Citizens United feeling I got when I realized the underwriters had won. Thanks for making me look corrupt, guys!

PARTY POOPER: Joe Kennedy announced for Congress and I guess he decided to raise money and glad-hand instead of coming to my awesome trivia night. (Newton Tab, AP)
