Meet the Slot Squad – Polito may sue Grossman – Womp womp for Wallace – Cambridge manager to retire

THE SLOT SQUAD: The Globe reports that the newly-assembled five-person gaming commission – the new panel set to regulate our impending casino industry- has very little experience with, you know, gambling in casinos.

TELL YOUR FRIENDS: I just want to throw in a quick reminder here that MassterList is a free service and that all of your friends, family and colleagues should sign up for the mailing list right here. Then everyone in your office will seem like they read the newspaper when they really just read an email on the train ride to work.

WOMP-WOMP: Former South Boston Rep. Brian Wallace and his campaign treasurer pleaded guilty yesterday to failing to report over $6,300 in campaign contributions from his 2008 reelection and for failure to comes up with receipts for over $35,000 in campaign spending. Wallace says he’s been made an example of by mean ol’ Martha Coakley and the crusaders at the Office of Campaign and Political Finance. And they agree because they’re apparently tired of people not, you know, following the law at all. (Herald)

PEOPLE’S REPUBLIC: Robert Healy, king of the municipal officials, overlord of Cambridge, is stepping down to spend more time with his pension. Authority over the city now reverts to the politburo before a new premier can be named. (Chronicle, Globe)

REMINDERS: In an attempt to get the campaign of former opponent Steve Grossman to take down a video accusing her of shenanigans involving low numbered Red Sox license plates, former Rep. Karyn Polito is threatening to sue Grossman and reminding us all about that license plate story. I had forgotten, too. Thanks, Karyn. (T&G, Globe)
