Legislative races field few challengers – Other states’ Sen races much funnier than ours – Setti wants a raise – Red state health exchanges? Not so much

SAME OL’: There are several pieces out today on what State House elections are going to look like come November. And they look pretty much the same as usual – few challengers and even fewer Republican challengers. Rest easy though, it won’t be just dogs and Red Sox talk all the way to election day: open seats could make for some interesting clashes and you just know the Governor’s Council is going to be a riot.

AUGUST CHAMBER: Unlike our U.S. Senate race, (where key issues include: dogs, baseball, baseball players and really emasculating dogs) other states are having interesting campaigns! Like in Maine where their former governor won’t tell them what party he’s in and West Virginia where smoking bans are exactly something Hitler would do.

YOU CAN’T RAISE A FAMILY THERE FOR UNDER 100K: A relatively poorly paid local mayor wants to increase the office’s salary by 28 percent to put it into the six-figures and to keep up with other city officials. Sounds reasonable. Oh, it’s that local mayor. Hard sell, dude, hard sell.

Health care exchanges: not exactly catching fire in Real America.
