Gov meets Fidelity honchos – DiMasi lawyer to be publicly paid – Video poker raids – Redistricting in W.Mass

Officials from Fidelity (AP) met with Gov. Patrick yesterday (Sun) to tell him, to his face, that they are still moving 1,100 jobs out of the state.

The Globe’s Andrea Estes brings word that former House Speaker Sal DiMasi’s defence attorney for his upcoming trial will be paid by taxpayers as a public defender.

The Eagle Tribune reports that the state raided illegal video poker machines in Lawrence.

Also in the Globe today are two pieces looking at towns on different ends of the census spectrum: Surging Upton and dwindling Lincoln. And could western Mass. see it’s two Congressmen end up fighting over one district after Beacon Hill lawmakers have their way with redistricting? The Republican/Masslive takes a look.
